Media Planner / Buyer

We are looking for a strategic thinking, detail-oriented Media Planner/ Buyer to join our media team. Our Media Planner/ Buyers work to develop research-based cross-platform media recommendations and are adept at thinking outside the box to find ways to stretch our Clients’ budgets and make their dollars work harder. Specifically, responsibilities include:

  • Building a deep understanding of Client business goals and marketing objectives, using this knowledge to help craft strong media recommendations and buys
  • Maintaining high level knowledge of media marketplace
  • Leveraging available media research to improve buying strategies
  • Aggressively negotiating and stewarding media buys, while maintaining a fair and honest approach with Agency’s media partners
  • Analyzing campaign performance, identifying strategic opportunities, and facilitating change to ultimately meet and exceed client KPIs
  • Working with other agency team members to collaboratively develop sound media recommendations and buys, manage day-to-day projects, and provide excellent Client service

Ideal Candidate has a Bachelor’s degree and prior experience in an agency or Client-side media role. Additional job requirements are as follows:

  • In depth knowledge of media planning, negotiation, implementation and performance analysis
  • 3-5 years of experience planning multi-media, multi-market campaigns, and ideally a minimum of 2 years of online planning and buying
  • Outstanding interpersonal, written communication, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to details, deadlines, budgets and timelines
  • Familiarity with syndicated media research tools including MRI, Scarborough, SQAD, Kantar, etc.
  • Experience writing POVs, as well as recommendations and competitive analysis decks
  • Experience interacting with clients and presenting media recommendations
  • Knowledge of advanced interactive targeting technologies
  • Understanding of buy stewardship, campaign analysis and optimization
  • Prior experience with third party ad-serving and campaign trafficking
  • Advanced Excel skills and campaign reporting; in-depth knowledge of media analytics a plus
  • High volume media account experience a big plus
  • Ability to work well independently and collaborate effectively with client services teams
  • High energy, assertive, take charge personality (no wall flowers, please!)
  • Desire and ability to go above and beyond (which entails thinking and working beyond 9 to 5)
